Whole 30 Recap
Wild kicked off a nutritional challenge with our members on July 7th. Over 45 clients committed and participated in the private Facebook event page. The challenge involved committing to a whole food diet for at least 30 days, eliminating all grains, dairy, and alcohol.
Participants were active on the Facebook page sharing their challenges and triumphs, favorite recipes and insights on how the diet changes have affected them. (Those recipes have been compiled as well and are available to participants in the gym!
The results were amazing! Weight loss was reported from participants of between 5 and 9 pounds and a significant decrease in the belly bloat was noticed. Clients were thrilled with their increased energy and better sleep. We also experienced better moods and clearer minds overall.
Among the comments, the biggest challenges seemed to be in social settings – eating out, alcohol avoidance, and sweets were the hurdles here. Some held firm, and avoided those situations entirely; others made rare exceptions while still being conscious of how much they indulged. Regardless, most felt successful in their completion of the challenge and were proud of their ability to stay on track.
Many of our clients reported being so happy with the results that they plan to stick with the diet with some slight modifications and re-introduction of small amounts of dairy and alcohol back into their diet for a long-term lifestyle change!
