Triathlon Training: Swimmers Pull Band Exercise

Coach Amber Budahn was featured this week in the “IN MOTION” Section on as well as in the CUE Section of the Journal Sentinel. They will be featured in a series of videos to help prepare those of you who are training for triathlons.

In this week’s video, Coach Amber was accompanied by Jessica Kieser from ATI Physical Therapy, who shows us safety precautions and modifications to the exercises that Coach Amber is demonstrating.

What you do is attach a band to a door, a tree, or something above your head. The key is to relax your knees and really engage your core with a flat back to support your spine. This exercise is excellent for the swimming portion of your triathlon training. It’s important to do this exercise properly so that you can avoid hurting your back, neck and shoulders.
