These Are EGGcellent For You!
Poor Eggs! I feel bad for these little guys. The bad rap eggs have received for being UNHEALTHY is just WRONG!
When low-fat diets became popular, people would freak at eating an egg because of the fat and cholesterol. Breakfast got the beat down instead of eggs in the morning! People switched to whole grain cereals. Instead of eating regular eggs, people now opt for fake eggs, or egg whites from a carton. With obesity, heart disease and diabetes rates getting higher and higher, I guess getting rid of those evil little eggs did not help the situation!
Eggs Are A Super Food!
I love eggs! Not just for breakfast, but as snacks, for lunch or for dinner. Eggs are filled with so mo many amazing nutrients that the body needs!
The Egg White: Contains High Quality Protein!
The Egg Yolk: Contains Vitamin A and Vitamin D, as well as lecithin. Lecithin is a fat that supports our cell membranes, our nervous system and our brains. The yolks also contain very powerful carotenoids, lutein, and zeaxanthin which keeps our skin and eyes healthy.
Eggs Also Contain: 8 Essential Amino Acids, 7 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat. Eggs also contain Vitamins A, K, E, D, B-Complex, and a variety of minerals.
They also contain Choline that supports our cells and brain, Biotin for our blood sugar regulation and fatty acid synthesis, and some brain boosting cholesterol. Most of all, this good stuff is found in the yolks, too!
What About Just Eating The Whites For Protein?
Ahhh…. it does not work that way! We need the fats IN the yolk to help us digest the proteins that are found in the egg whites. Why make it more difficult? They already come in perfect little packages. Don’t mess with mother nature!

Pick GOOD Eggs!
To maximize the nutrition from your eggs, make sure to get them from well treated and properly fed chickens. Remember, you are what you eat!
Pasture fed chickens are the best. Chickens that can graze freely to eat grass and bugs have yolks that are golden, yellow-orange in color and very hearty. The vibrant color is from all the nutrition packed into the yolks!
So enjoy them baked, scrambled, over easy, boiled, fried, poached or in your favorite recipes.
Bump your nutrition with eggs … don’t be afraid of them!
