DO YOU LOVE YOURSELF?
I know I’m starting off pretty strong here, but seriously, just think about it. Now let me ask you again. Do you REALLY love yourself? How did you answer that question? Read on…
Stop Comparing Yourself.
From social media, to television to magazines, there is always pressure to look a certain way. Comparing yourself to someone else is sabotaging your results. Guess what? You will never look exactly like someone else. Why? Because you were created to be YOU.
Close your eyes for a moment and think about what you would like to change about yourself.
Is it fitting in those old jeans from 10 years ago that you are still holding onto? Is it losing the baby weight? Is it getting more toned? Is it building more muscle? Is it rocking a 2-piece this summer? Is it losing 30 lbs?
Don’t focus on comparing yourself to your friends, or the model on the cover of the magazine, or the person at the gym that can lift more than you can. This is YOUR life, your vision, your goal… and it IS obtainable.
Stop The Negative Self Talk.
One of the biggest road blocks on one’s journey to fitness and optimum health is our negative self talk. Are you aware of how many times a day you look at yourself in the mirror and point out your flaws? From pimples, to wrinkles, to grey hairs, to your weight… you know what you are looking at.
The more we focus on what we see as “imperfections” – the longer it will take for us to get to where we want to be with our health and fitness goals. Lets face it. If you tell yourself in a moment of self-loathing, “I’m fat, and I’ll never lose the weight!” Well, you are setting yourself up for failure, because you really start to believe it.
Instead, tell yourself, “I want to change this about myself…and I will… but right now – I accept it and I’m determined to change it.”
Stop Saying I Cant.
I want you to think about one more thing. How often do you tell yourself that you can’t do something?
Do you tell yourself “I love bread & pasta, I can’t possibly give that up!” Then you wont.
Do you tell yourself you can’t get to the gym because you are too busy? Well, then you wont.
Do you tell yourself “I just can’t lose weight.” Again, then you wont. The “I Cant” is what’s getting in the way of your “I CAN” results. It’s time to re-train your brain.
START SAYING I CAN!
Before you can shift your mindset to saying “I CAN” instead of “I CANT” – you need to fully accept where you are right now, at this very moment.
Forget your mistakes in the past, forget how much you feel you have let yourself go, and agree to look past your “imperfections.” Instead, embrace them. You don’t get to where you want to be by fighting “what is” you get there by accepting “what is.”
When you love yourself, you value your health, your body, and your life – and you are then determined to reach your goals. There is no stopping you. There’s no more giving up. There’s no more starting and stopping. Best of all, there is no more room for “I CAN’T” in your life – and all that self sabotaging, negative self talk goes out the window.
Today is a new beginning. Today is the day you need to decide FOR YOU, for your health, that you Love Yourself. Truly loving yourself is the beginning of an incredible journey, and incredible RESULTS!
