November Clients of the Month – Dynamic Duo! Kelly & Melissa

Congratulations to Melissa Doda & Kelly Hempel our November Clients of the Month!

Read on to find out more about Melissa & Kelly!

Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it? Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?

Melissa – My favorites are plank and ropes.  They both work on so many muscles.  The ropes make me feel like a beast! My least is the Turkish Getup.  It is to complicated for my simple mind, especially when I’m at a 5:30am workout!  In only 45 moves you can go from floor to standing…  I know, I exaggerated!

Kelly – It’s hard to pick a favorite but I love med ball slams. It’s a great stress reliever and works my whole body. I’m not a fan of wall sits; I can’t get to a happy place doing them.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Melissa– First, I’m happy I finally found a gym that works for me!  I have been in and out of so many gyms and have purchased so many home videos.  Both worked for a short period of time.  But they got old, and my motivation and dedication slips away.  Wild is different.  I look forward to my workouts and the people I will see there!  Second, this time I’m doing this for ME.  In the past when I started a workout or diet, it was for a wedding I was in coming up, or a trip.  Once the wedding was over, or I was back from the trip, I was back to my old bad habits.  This time there is no wedding, or trip.  This time is for me.  So I am proud of myself for making it this far, and look forward to tomorrow and the day after!

Kelly – I’m proud of completing my first 5k this summer. I hate running and when I signed up I figured I would just walk it. Melissa has done many 5ks and when I mentioned it to her, she signed up to do it with me. She encouraged me with every step I took; I couldn’t have finished without her!

What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

Melissa – So many things!!!  I LOVE the variety of the workouts.  They are all unique, so I never feel like I’m doing the same workout over and over again.  I’m sure my husband is sick of hearing me after my workouts, “That was such a great workout today!”  The coaches are WONDERFUL!  Always encouraging and giving me that extra push that I most likely would not do on my own.

Kelly – I love so many things about Wild! Each trainer brings something different to my workouts. I love that I’m not only supported in my fitness goals but also in my goals for overall wellness.

What advice would you give to other Wild peeps?

Melissa –   We are all here for different reasons.  Make sure your reason includes YOU!  Taking this time for yourself helps everyone around you at the end of the day.

Kelly – My advice would be to embrace the Wild community; trainers and clients alike. The support is boundless. If you can, find a friend to join you on your journey. The accountability, camaraderie and support I have from Melissa is priceless.

Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?

Melissa – I love upbeat quick music for working out.  It helps me along especially if the exercise at the moment is challenging.  My favorite song for when I run is Girlfriend by Averil Lavigne.  Don’t judge!!  😉  Something about it just puts a pep in my step, or stride at the time.  🙂

Kelly – I love some hip-hop beats for working out.

What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?

Melissa – I’m working on fine tuning my eating so that I can build lean muscle and lose some more inches.  The workouts at Wild are great, so I am trying to get my food in check to make the most of those amazing workouts!

Kelly – I’m currently trying to get in bikini shape for a trip to Jamaica in January. Perhaps there will be another core camp in my future Coach Emily! I have fantasies about Ragnar and Tough Mudder but since I hate running, I think I’ll start with couch to 5k next spring.

Extra shout out!

Melissa – Kelly brought me in on a bring your friend day and I can’t thank her enough!  I have been hooked ever since.  We both try to make bootcamp Wednesday night to keep the friend workout momentum going.  Not only do we get the push from our coaches, but from each other to do the best we can that day.  Outside the gym, it is awesome to have someone to talk about food, accomplishments, and goals as well, and Kelly has been there for me!  Although we are on our own journey for our own reasons, we have that extra support from each other!  Thanks Kelly!!!
