Fab Abs Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!

How many of you are board with the same old core routine?

Or maybe some of you don’t know where to start? In today’s video blog, I am going to show you a fun way to change up your core (ab) training routine.

We’re going to do a “down the ladder” format with four different exercises.

The four exercises we are going to do are the following:

Toe Touches
Dead Bug
Lunch Boxes
Shifting Plank
Rest

Check out this video to see how to perform the above exercises correctly.  We’ll also go over modifications if you do have lower back pain so that you can still enjoy this amazing workout.

The “down the ladder” format will look like this:
Round 1 will be 45 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest
Round 2 will be 35 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest
Round 3 will be 25 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest
Round 4 will be 15 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest

Here’s what Round 1 would look like.
Toe Touches for 45 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Dead Bug for 45 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Lunch Boxes for 45 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Shifting Plank for 45 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Rest for 45 sec

Then you’ll go right in to Round 2
Toe Touches for 35 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Dead Bug for 35 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Lunch Boxes for 35 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Shifting Plank for 35 sec
Rest for 10 sec
Rest for 35 sec

Then continue onto Rounds 3 and finish with Round 4.

A great time could be a stop watch or you could download a Tabata Timer App on your smart phone.  You can set work times and rest times.
