2013 was a WILD Year
The end of the year is a perfect time to reflect on all that you have accomplished. Well I’m going to do just that. 2013 was a Wild year, filled with Weight Loss Challenges, Charity Events, New Fitness Programs, New Staff and a New Location.
We took our weight loss challenges to a whole new level this year. We offered 3 challenges last year, which produced amazing results.
The Winter Weight Loss Challenge was launched in February. A perfect time in Wisconsin, because we are cold and there is nothing going on. The winner of the Winter Weight Loss Challenge was: Mary Beth “MB” won that challenge losing over 10 pounds and 2.2 percent body fat in 28 days. We had 63 participants.
To get ready for the summer months of shorts and sleeveless shirts, we ran the Summer Slimdown Challenge. With 72 participants, the competition was tight but Beth came out on top for the win.
Our first fundraising weight loss challenge was the Your Best Body Challenge. We raised $1570.00 for the Bay View Neighborhood Association. This challenge brought in the most participants at 153 people. After 5 weeks of the Your Best Body Challenge, Sara came out on top as our overall winner.
Here at Wild Workouts and Wellness, we use our workout powers for good to help our many local organizations. Our charity boot camps are a great way to get a sweat and give back.
Our first event was the Sweatin’ for School Supplies Charity boot camp. Wild peeps Ceil and Mary Beth went to Africa and needed school supplies to bring with. We brought the school supplies and got in a good sweat too.
The Summer Hunger Boot Camp was a food drive boot camp, where participants brought in a non-perishable food item to the workout. Our food donations went to Feeding America during a time of the year when donations are not as frequent.
We were a Chill on the Hill Sponsor this year. Over 70 people came to our Chill Workout and hung out after.
Our annual charity event is Boot Camp for Boobies. This year the donations went to Jamie Garrison. You can read about Jamie’s story by clicking on her name. You can also still donate!!
Keeping fitness fun is what we do here at Wild Workouts and Wellness. Our fitness programs are a great addition to the boot camp and semi private workouts that we offer. We’ve been offering Run Wild, Triathlon Training and 1/2 Marathon Training since we opened in 2010. This year we added Cycle and Strength, Couch to 5k, 10 Weeks to Tough Mudder, and Kettlebell Kamp.
Cycle and Strength has become a very popular workout for people who enjoy bike riding and triathlon. You “get it done” in one night with the combination of interval cardio work on the bike followed by strength training. We’re thankful to the South Shore Cyclery for letting us crash their bike shop!
The Couch to 5K program trained for the Rock N Sole 5K. This progressive program, took people from the couch to crossing the finish line.
If we were not tough enough already, we had a group train for the Tough Mudder. The group told me they were more than ready to tackle the 13.1 mile coarse.
I love Kettlebells and it seems a lot of other people do too! Kettlebell Kamp has been a fun addition to our fitness program.
New staff members joined the Wild Workouts and Wellness team this year. Welcome Brian, Kathleen and Amanda.

Wild Workout and Wellness got a new home this year. We’ve expanded to three times the space of the previous space. New equipment to keep workouts “special” and bright green walls to keep your energy high. I love our new location.
It’s been a WILD and AMAZING year. One thing though, is that none of this would have ever happened without you. I am so grateful for the amazing members of Wild Workouts and Wellness. You are more than clients- you are friends, and my daily inspiration. Thank you! Thank you to my absolutely phenomenal team: Amanda, Melissa, Carla, Rachel, Brian and Kathleen. Thank you to my family, and my friends for believing in me, and supporting me every step of the way.
Let’s get even MORE WILD in 2014!
